Surrey cubs battle it out for quiz title

Date: 6th Feb 2020 Author: Alistair Tickett

Sunday 26th January 2020 brought with it the annual challenge to the little grey cells for some of the brainiest cubs in Surrey.

Following on from success at pack and then district level, ten teams from around the county, each representing their district, took part in the final of the county quiz competition. With a wide range of questions, from general knowledge to sport, food tasting challenges, picture puzzles and music rounds, the cubs showed just how much they know.

Once all the questions were answered, all the refreshments consumed and the odd game of heads & tails played, the results were finally adjudicated and verified. Tension in the room grew as the drum rolls sounded. It was very tightly contested and in the end 2 teams were tied for 1st place. How could we choose a winner, rock, paper, scissors?

Who could answer a tie breaker question and be nearest to the correct answer so what question?

Of the 12 people to walk on the moon, how many had been scouts?

In the end, one team knew the answer, do you?

Congratulations Woking District

Well done to all teams that took part, not only on the 26th but also in the earlier rounds, thank you to all leaders for helping to deliver the quiz –  I’m sure the cubs enjoyed it.
