Roar 2020! Surrey Scouts Camp at Home!

Date: 17th Aug 2020 Author: Alistair Tickett

Summer 2020 has presented many challenges but Surrey Scouts have overcome them to still get a camp in this year!

Members of Surrey Scouts of all ages, along with their families, joined in Roar 2020!  Everyone camped at home or made a den in their house and joined in a range of activities including challenges such as learning semaphore, cooking, pioneering, paper helicopter making, toilet roll rope making, ciphers, challenges from the sea scouts, quizzes – so many things to do.

Leaders also had a chance to catch up on some programmer planning training or in take part in key training such as risk assessment.

Outstanding moments were the pre-recorded campfire on Friday a night and the live campfire on Saturday night with people joining in from all over the county.

Summer 2020 has been unlike any other summer but Surrey Scouts have risen to the challenge !
