1st Knaphill Squirrels’ Big Night Out At The Drive-in!

Congratulations to 1st Knaphill Squirrels completing their first night away in Scouts with a drive in movie themed sleepover.

Squirrels really enjoyed making cars out of cardboard boxes ready to watch the film.  Squirrel Emily, aged 4 said ‘I loved making and decorating my car.  It was really comfortable with my sleeping bag and pillow inside. I also liked sleeping with the nightlight I made’

With their cars made they settled down to watch the film & eat pizza. During an interval they went outside to toast marshmallows & make popcorn over the fire.  There was great  excitement as the popcorn spilled out over the top of the pan!

After a quick singsong Squirrels returned inside to watch the rest of the film before bedtime.

Squirrel leader Leanne commented ‘our Squirrels all slept well & were incredibly well behaved throughout.  We kept them busy so they were all pretty tired.  Amazingly they didn’t wake up until gone 7am, much later than we were expecting.  In the morning we played sone games after breakfast, then Squirrels were picked up by their parents.’

Bruno  aged 5 said ‘I loved the sleepover with my friends.  Breakfast was the best.  I love pancakes! I am going to decorate my car even more when I get home. I can’t wait until the next time!’

Group Scout Leader Tracey added ‘it was fantastic to see independence and self reliance at such a young age.  We are lucky to have a fantastic Squirrel leader team offering an exciting programme. Thank you to the team for taking the plunge & organising a sleepover just a few months after starting Squirrels. What a great experience for them all.’
