Growing Roots learning is a requirement for most new volunteers and should be completed within 6 months of appointment. You will find the learning sessions on your online record, available from 1st December 2024

Branching Out learning is for when you want to stretch yourself and develop your skills and knowledge.  Some of the Branching Out learning is required if you want to do certain things – like learning for accreditations. Other learning is available when it’s helpful for you.

The Wood Badge is an international award showing a volunteer’s personal commitment to learning and development with Scouts.  The award is now optional and you can choose to work towards it as part of your ongoing development.
