As all new volunteers need to complete Safeguarding and Safety within the first 30 days, with the remaining Growing Roots learning completed within their first 180 days.

Branching Out

This learning is for when you want to stretch yourself and develop your skills and knowledge.  Some of the Branching Out learning is required if you want to do certain things – like learning for accreditations. Other learning is available when it’s helpful for you.

The Wood Badge

This is an international award showing a volunteer’s personal commitment to learning and development with Scouts.  The award is now optional and you can choose to work towards it as part of your ongoing development.
