Nights Away Skills – Knife, Axe and Saw

Date: 16th November 2024 Between: 9:30 am - 12:30 pm Location: Bentley Copse

For adult supporters who wish to teach camp craft (‘Sharps’) skills for young people in a remote locality to improve comfort at Camp, e.g. fire starting and making simple, useful, tools.

Content will focus on:

Battening (for tinder and tools),

Feather-stick (for fire lighting),

Swedish candle (for a fire),

Safe techniques (for young people).

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
