Skills for Permit & Learning Assessors

There are three accreditations that require the holders to assess the skills of others and give them supportive and objective feedback.

  • Nights Away Permit Assessors, awarded at District level.
  • Activity Permit Assessors, awarded at County level
  • Learning Assessors, awarded at both County and District  level.

A one hour workshop is available covering the skills of:

  • Giving supportive and objective feedback to adults
  • Demonstrating consideration and care for those you are giving feedback to
  • Using adult style language and avoiding patronising speech.
  • Demonstrating active listening

Additional learning is needed for NA Permit assessment and Activity Permit assessment. This additional learning is assessed by nominated District or County Team Members.  The details of what you need to know are available when you enrol in either Module 25N or Module 25A.  Further guidance will be available on the workshop

Additional training is available for Learning Assessors in the use of My Learning for assessment and for assessing Wood Badge Modules.

Please contact howard.hills@surrey-scouts.org.uk if you need these skills, or book the next workshop if one is advertised.

Additional support is available for those who were previously Training Adviser who need to understand a little more about how MyLearning works. Please contact Howard as above for video material.

Next Workshop:

Module 25N. Module 25A and M25T (Part 1)
