Beaver & Cub Leader Training

This is a course for Leaders in the Beaver and Cub Sections requiring training toward gaining the Wood Badge, and Section Assistants and Adult Helpers requiring the skills to assist the Section Leader.  Leaders from the Scout & Explorer Sections are also welcome to join this course if the dates are more convenient for them.

The course runs as four separate days but clustered across two weekends. It is possible to select specific days to suit availability. The majority of core modules are covered across the four days.

These days are also suitable for anyone wishing to refresh their learning.

Day 1 covers the following modules:
Module 5: The Fundamentals of Scouting
Module 8: Skills of Leadership
Module 9: Working with Adults
Module 18 (theory): Practical Skills

Day 2 covers the following modules:
Module 11: Administration
Module 12a: Delivering a Quality Programme
Module 12b: Programme Planning
Module 19: International
Ceremonies

Day 3 covers the following modules:
Module 7: Scouting For All
Module 14: Supporting Young People
Module 15: Promoting Positive Behaviour

Day 4 covers the following modules:
Module 13: Growing the Section
Module 17: Running Safe Activities
Module 18 (practical): Practical Skills
Games with a Purpose
