Adult Training is provided in a number of separate Learning Modules. Different roles have different training requirements.
Training may be available as e-learning, workbooks, one to one, small groups or courses. These pages will show the training opportunities and links. Adults able to produce evidence of prior learning may be exempt from some of the training.
Getting Started modules are a requirement for most adult appointments and should be completed within 5 months of appointment. These are Essential Information (Module 1), Safety, Safeguarding and GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations) and are all available as elearning. A Personal Learning Plan and Tools for the Role may also be required for relevant roles.
Executive Committee members/Trustees will also need to complete the Trustee Introduction Module.
Section Leaders and Assistant Leaders who have completed the above modules have a total period of 3 years in which to complete their training up to the award of their Wood Badge (awarded on successful completion of their formal validation).
Section Leaders and Assistant Leaders need to complete Modules 1 to 19 to achieve their Wood Badge. Managers (ACCs, DCs, GSLs, ADCs) etc. need to complete Modules 1 to 10 and the Managers’ modules to achieve the same result.
All Leaders should have their learning up to date in order to take part in meetings or events. This includes Essential Information, Safeguarding, Safety and GDPR. The elearning for these modules can be found at www.scouts.org.uk.
