Following the suspension of all Scouting meetings and events for the time being, the County Training Team are looking at alternative ways of delivering training to you in the comfort and safety of your own homes. We have some exciting ideas that we are currently working on so watch this space!

Adult Training is provided in 39 separate Learning Modules. New and Existing Leaders will find they are required to complete some of these modules with others being optional.

The modules are provided in a variety of ways e-learning, workbooks, one to one, small groups or courses. This page is designed to allow leaders to search for training opportunities being delivered by the County Training Team which includes the Local Training Managers. Leaders able to produce evidence of prior learning may be exempt from some modules subject to the approval of their training adviser.

New Leaders are required to complete Module 1 Essential Information within 3 months of their appointment, and also complete a Personal Learning Plan with their Training Adviser plus Module 3 Tools for the Role (Section Leaders) within 5 months of their appointment.

Section Leaders and Assistant Leaders who have completed the above modules have a total period of 3 years in which to complete their training up to the award of their Wood Badge (awarded on successful completion of their formal training).

Section Leaders and Assistant Leaders need to complete Modules 1 to 19 to achieve their Wood Badge; Managers (ACCs, DCs, GSLs, ADCs) etc. have to complete Modules 1 to 10 and the new Managers’ modules to achieve the same result.

Put your phone down and what are you left with? Just teamwork, courage and the skills to succeed.’
