Dorking Cubs Visit the Docks

Date: 31st Mar 2019 Author: Alistair Tickett

Dorking District Cubs headed off for an adventure at  the Chatham Historic Dockyards.  The District took 70 cub scouts to explore the dockyards and while they were there, they boarded a submarine, made rope and learnt how the HMS Victory was built amongst lots of other activities.

To top off a sun-filled day of exciting exploration and discoveries, one new member was also invested at the end of the day.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
