4th Weybridge Beavers’ Insight into Guide Dogs
4th Weybridge Beavers were lucky enough to be visited by Jonathan and his dog Ozzy last week. Ozzy is Jonathan’s Guide Dog, and helps him to get around.
Jonathan talked to the Beavers about disability, and about how he uses his white stick to also get around. He had a special machine that printed out braille labels, so he could stick them on things like his tea and coffee caddies, and lots of other things round the house. He had some braille books too, and the Beavers watched a video of him and his first guide Dog Eddie, who was rather naughty!
This visit from a Guide Dogs for the Blind spokesperson was very interesting, and has helped the Beavers earn their disability badge. The Beavers ended up by donating some money to Guide Dogs for the Blind, for which Jonathan was very grateful!
