2nd Stoneleigh (St John’s) Lend a Hand

Date: 2nd May 2018 Author: Scout Websites

After learning about the struggles of others in the search for clean water, 2nd Stoneleigh (St. John’s) Beavers and Cubs completed their ‘A Million Hands’ Water and Sanitation with a 5km Walk for Water. They hiked along the Hogsmill River carrying extra water so that the Beavers and Cubs had a full appreciation of what children their age do every day just to get water, and often dirty water.

The Beavers and Cubs raised just under £100 for WaterAid in the process.

The Beavers and Cubs did an excellent job, and are now more aware about the struggles of others and appreciate how lucky they are to have clean running water.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
