Fun and Fundraising

2 sisters from 1st Cuddington (Warspite) Sea Scouts took on challenges this summer to raise funds for their Scouts and the RNLI at Teddington.

Having visited the Teddington lifeboat station this spring, they were inspired. 6 year old Evelyn, who is a Beaver Scout, solo kayaked from Hampton Court to Thames Ditton, whilst 9 year old Freya, a Cub Scout, rowed solo from Hampton Court all the way to Teddington a couple of weeks later. Freya’s marathon 2 ½ hour trip took her through Kingston were she was cheered on by a passing passenger boat.

The girls were met at the end of Freya’s challenge by volunteer crew and supporters from the Teddington lifeboat team.

Both girls trained hard for their events, which took place under Scout permit rules and with safety cover.

They have raised over £560 to be split between the RNLI and the Scouts. –https://mydonate.bt.com/events/freyaevelyn/308326.
