Joining the Dots: The Programme Journey

Date: 19th February 2022 Location: 7th Woking HQ Sections: Adult Volunteers

Open to: ADC (Section), DESC, DNC, DYC, ACC, CYC, DCYC

You are invited to a Programme Conference on Saturday 19th February 2022 (9.00am for 9.30 start; 12.30pm finish followed by lunch), at the 7th Woking Scout Group HQ.

The aim of the morning is to turn our minds away from the challenges of the past 18 months, and towards the essential of Scouting: giving our young people skills for life. The very skills that ensure that they will become the better adults who will change the world for the better. This is what you, given your important role, spend the majority of your time doing every week.

We have our young people in Scouting, potentially, from 6 to 25 years old, which is 19 years during which we can help them grow and develop through our programmes for Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers, and Network. Each Section builds on the successes of the previous one. So, this conference is about Section ADCs, DESCs, DNCs, DYCs, and their County counterparts working together in order that every young person’s Scouting journey, and transition from one Section to the next is successful and enjoyable.

What will we be discussing?

What do we think their programme journey should look like?

How can we, in our roles, make that journey even more successful and enjoyable than it is now?

How can we solve some of the challenges that we share in creating and delivering the Programme across all Sections, not just our own?

What support do you need, and what is available for you and your section leaders?
