Tomahawk Training October 2024

Instructor Course Objectives

The Instructor Course will be a day long course, ending with the newly trained instructors running a two hour experience session

  • How to provide Tomahawk Throwing as an activity for our young people safely and within the bounds of The Scout Association
  • Understand what equipment can and can’t be used
  • How to construct a range
  • Understand throwing techniques and how to correct them
  • Consider session plans, targets, competitions and games

You will need: dress for the weather, hiking boots, waterproofs, layers, gloves, sun cream! – training will be in and out, but experience will be outside the whole time and there will be some waiting.  Bring your own lunch.

We will provide: coffees, teas and biscuits provided

The Surrey Scouts Training Trust should be able to take applications for assistance with fees from individuals.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
