This course introduces the role requirements for GSLs, DESCs, Section Supporters such as SASU Managers, ADCs and District and Group scouters. Learn about eating the elephant and monkey management; using tomatoes and fish bones to manage your time with lessons from cooking.
Topics covered: Getting the role right, Understanding the current situation (how to complete a SWOT or RAG), developing a plan (Growth, Inclusivity, Community Involvement, Youth Shaped, – People, Perception, Programme, Places), Time Management, Personal Learning Plan, connecting with others). For those who do a little preparatory work this would be a vehicle for validating Managing Time and Personal Skills as well as Module 4.
Before the course starts you are expected to complete a description of what you think your job is and what you intend to achieve. In between the sessions you will complete a detailed assessment of your group or district section. Finally you will have learning and validation plan.
