Applications Now Open for the Adventure of a Lifetime!

What is a Jamboree?

A World Scout Jamboree is an adventure beyond anything you can imagine. In 2019, 45,000 Scouts from almost every country in the world will camp together for 12 days of fun and friendship. Jamborees take place every four years in a different country, the 24th World Scout Jamboree will take place in West Virginia, USA in the summer of 2019.

Why should I want to go?

This is the biggest and best event world Scouting can offer, and you only get one chance to go! At the Jamboree, you will have a packed programme of activities, all centred around the theme of Unlock a New World: an invitation to unlock new adventures, new cultures, and new friendships.

Who can go to a Jamboree?

Participants must be born between 22 July 2001 and 21 July 2005 with no exceptions. Things we are looking for include an interest in international Scouting, a commitment to Scouting and the Jamboree training events (of which there will be many) and enthusiasm! It doesn’t matter how long you have been in Scouting and it is not a reward for the most badges. You don’t need to have been abroad before and money should not be a barrier!

Tell me more… Contact you Scout Leader or Explorer Leader for the full information pack and HERE for FAQs.

How much does it cost?

The UK Contingent Jamboree fee is £3495.  You can read more about what the fee includes and the breakdown of the various coponants of the fee via this link.  Money should not be a barrier to your application. Financial support may be available from your District and Group, along with other bursaries. Past Jamboree participants have also successfully run fundraising events for all of their Jamboree fee! See the information pack for more details.
