Guildford Explorers and Network celebrate a Wight Christmas

Loki Scout Network Unit (Guildford and Godalming) and Explorer Scouts from Guildford East (Downslink and Hungry Hill Units) attended the annual Isle of Wight Revolution an activity camp for Explorer Scouts and the Scout Network.

The camp runs over the Easter weekend and being so early this year the weather certainly helped to create the atmosphere of a "Wight Christmas" - the theme for the camp. Over the weekend the campers experienced snow, hail, high winds, rain and sunshine! But the weather did not dampen the spirits of the participants. In fact all but one of the planned activities went ahead without issue.

The daytime activities included a pleasure boat ride around the solent, aerobics, street dancing, sumo suits, bouncy castle, indoor bowls, Wightopoly (collecting information from around the Island), Mountain Bikes and Headhunters (Laser Shooting).

For the evenings there was themed discos for all participants and Karoke. At the Christmas Eve disco there was even a chance to meet Santa!

The camp was extremely good fun and allowed Explorers and Scout Networks to meet. This year several members that had been Explorer Scouts last year attended as part of the Scout Network. The Loki Scout Network kindly provided the catering facilities for both Network and Explorer Scouts and therefore both sections had plenty of time to meet and discuss future Scouting plans.
