On Thursday 15th April 5th Morden Cubs were the first group to use the new purpose built climbing tower under the watchful eye of Rob Harlow.
On reaching the top one cub said “I am the first person to climb the tower – that’s really cool and I don’t even like heights!”
This fantastic new facility was completed with help from a number of groups including the service crew, junior crews and the Community Payback Team who carried out some fencing and groundwork.
Donations were gratefully received from Surrey Police and the Gerald Beck Trust which were used to purchase the ropes and equipment.
Thanks to Rob Harlow and Russ Baldwin for helping to organise the equipment and providing general support.
More instructors are needed to run this activity. If you are able to help, or would like to become qualified, please contact the warden.
