There are Local Networks active in Surrey and they are meeting in a number of districts. At County we decided to divide the county into five areas and appoint a County Network Scout Leader for each area. To date we have appointed three Leaders. We still need Leaders for East Surrey, Caterham, Horley, Reigate, Epsom and Ewell, Esher, Banstead, Dorking and Leatherhead. Anyone interested in helping within these areas please contact me.

We have recently appointed a County Networks administrator, our aim being to provide information on activities within Surrey. However our available time recently has been taken up chasing membership fees, and updating our lists of non-warranted and warranted members of Network age. We have now completed this task.

We have attended the last Explorer DESC meeting and asked for their help in providing the names of Explorer Scouts who are coming up to Network age. We will attend the next Explorer DESC meeting to see what progress we are making.

We must remember that when taking part in any scouting activity your membership provides the necessary insurance cover we all require.

We are currently preparing a Newsletter which will be circulated to all Network members and the older Explorers soon.

We will try to arrange a Network conference on the Web as requested - details to follow here.

Lastly we must remember that Network is a new section which is run by the members for the members and we at County wish to support you.
