South Today the BBC regional news programme, which is broadcast across the South of England will be running a feature on the centenary of Scouting.
A celebration is being held on Brownsea Island, the birth place of Scouting, in Poole harbour. BBC South Today is providing extensive coverage of the celebrations both on TV and Online.
In addition to the live TV coverage from the 30th July, South Today will release three exclusive short films commemorating the event which will be available to watch on the South Today website.
Lots of activities are planned for the Tuesday 31st July. We will be with the scouts as they explore the island. We will also be going behind the scenes as all the world’s media set up for the sunrise ceremony tomorrow.

The event many have travelled around the world to see. Our cameras will give you unprecedented access to this historical occasion. We will hear the thoughts and feelings of those present and what memories they will take home with them.
