Over the weekend of 6 / 7 October, the Scout Association teamed up with all the Sainsburys superstores in the UK to promote Scouting.
Beavers, Cubs from Woking and Explorer Scouts from the Martian Unit in Horsell together with their Leaders accompanied by a wonderful Jazz band were at Sainsbury in Brookwood. They handed out leaflets to increase the profile of Scouting in the Borough. The aim was to encourage both young and old to join this fast moving and exciting movement, which is celebrating its centenary this year.
Throughout its 100 year history, Scouting has kept up with the times, and catered for the needs of the young people, from Outdoors and camping, to arts and crafts, IT skills and many adventurous and fun activities and class challenges including running the Duke of Edinburgh Scheme.
