Adult Leader Training (which also includes training for Explorer Scouts looking forward to Adult service) is fully covered on the Training Diary. These notes should help to explain some of the detail given.
Adult Training Scheme.
Adult Training is now provided in 36 separate Learning Modules. New and Existing Leaders will find they are required to complete some of these modules with others being optional. The modules are now provided in a variety of ways e-learning, workbooks, one to one, small groups or courses. This page is designed to allow leaders to search for training opportunities being delivered by the County Training Team which includes the Local Training Managers. Leaders able to produce evidence of prior learning may be exempt from some modules subject to the approval of their training adviser.
New Leaders are required to complete Module 1 Essential Information within 3 months of their appointment, and also complete a Personal Learning Plan with their Training Adviser plus Module 3 Tools for the Job (Section Leaders) within 5 months of their appointment.
Section Leaders and Assistants who have completed the above modules then have a period of 3 years in which to complete their training up to the award of their Wood Badge (awarded on successful completion of their formal training). Section Leaders and Assistants need to complete Modules 1 to 19 to achieve their Wood Badge; Managers (ACC's, DC's, GSL's, ADC's) etc have to complete Modules 1 to 10 and 20 to 26 to achieve the same result.

Facilitation & Presentation - A course for adults designed to equip them with the required skills to chair & present meetings in a scouting setting.
